How to add a character or creature into a video you filmed

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add your clip in Rift, and a photo of what should appear if it's real, then tell Spark, Rift's video agent, 'keep my video, add a small dragon landing on the railing at the end'. Spark keeps your shot, camera and timing and adds the character. Check the Draft and tap Make for a video up to 15 seconds.

Film your shot as usual, then tell Spark what to add: a dragon, a giant cat, a friend who couldn’t come. Your footage, camera and timing stay as they are.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add your clip in Rift.
  2. Say “keep my video” and what appears, where and when.
  3. Check the Draft and tap Make.

Say "keep my video" so Spark adds only the new thing.

Simple interactions work: landing next to you, waving, following.

What clips work best?

Steady shots with space where the character will go.
