The makeup transition is two halves: a plain you, a hand over the camera, and then the full character. Rift makes the second half. You film the first and do the join.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- Your own before clip, short, ending with a hand, hood or prop across your face.
- A still frame from the last second of that clip, face visible if you can.
Step by step
- Film the before clip and stop when your hand covers your face.
- Save a still from just before or after the cover.
- Add it in Rift and tell Spark the finished look.
- Check the Draft. The price is shown on the Make button before you tap, then tap Make.
- Join the clips in your posting app, cutting on the hand.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Same pose, same room, now a pale vampire with red eyes and a black cape.”
- “A green-skinned witch with a pointed hat, hand drops from her face.”
- “Same hoodie, now a skeleton face paint, dim purple light.”
- “My cat, same spot on the sofa, now in a tiny wizard hat.”
- “Same walk down the hall, now a tall scarecrow with stitched cheeks.”
Tips
- Match the pose. The after shot should start where your hand stopped.
- Match the light. Film the before clip in light you can describe to Spark.
- Keep it simple. One strong costume is clearer than three.
- Cut on movement. Join the clips as the hand moves, so the change feels hidden.
