Tell Spark a tiny drama between food or objects, such as a lemon breaking up with a lime. Rift makes it as a silent scene of up to 15 seconds.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- A cast of two or three objects, foods or toys.
- A feeling: betrayal, jealousy, a reunion, a surprise.
Step by step
- Pick the drama. One conflict. One reaction.
- Add photos if you want your own props. Or let Spark design the characters.
- Tell Spark. Describe the scene in a line.
- Check the Draft. Spark plans the shots and the faces.
- Make, then post. Tap Make. Add the spoken lines as on-screen text in the app you post to.
Lines to try with Spark
- “A sad strawberry watches a croissant leave with a coffee cup, rainy window.”
- “Two socks discover the third sock was in the dryer all along.”
- “A stapler confronts a pen on a messy desk, dramatic close-ups.”
- “A birthday cake sees the knife and faints.”
- “Salt and pepper shakers at a wedding, one tearing up.”
Tips for a clean result
- Cast contrast. A tall one and a small one, a hot one and a cold one.
- Face first. Say where the eyes and mouth go on each object.
- Use close-ups. Faces and reactions read best close.
- Tell the plot with the first frame. Set, mood, the one thing that goes wrong.
- Leave space for text. Keep the top and bottom of the frame clear for words you add later.
Beyond food
Try toys, tools, houseplants, pets in a staged argument, or the family car after a long drive. Anything with a shape can have feelings.
