How to use a reference video to show AI exactly what you want

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Share a clip that has what you want, the light, the camera, the movement or the mood, into Rift, then tell Spark, Rift's video agent, what to take from it and what's yours: 'use the light and camera from this, but it's my coffee shop'. Add photos of your own people, products or places. Spark plans from both. Check the Draft and tap Make.

Questions people ask

What's the difference between a reference and a remake?

A remake keeps the clip's action. A reference only lends one quality, like its light or camera, to a new scene.

Can I use a photo as a reference?

Yes. A photo can set the look, colours or place.

Can I use more than one reference?

Yes. Say what each one is for: "light from the first, camera from the second".

Will it copy the people in the reference?

Only if you ask. Say "not the people, just the light".
