Take a flat photo of the drawing and tell Spark what should happen, like the dragon flying off the page. You get a short video of up to 15 seconds to show your child, and you choose whether the crayon look stays.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- The drawing, photographed flat, in daylight, with no shadows on it.
Step by step
- Photograph the drawing from straight above. Fill the frame.
- Add the photo in Rift.
- Tell Spark what it is and what happens. “This is a purple dragon. It flaps its wings and flies off the page.”
- Choose the look: keep the drawing style, or make it look real.
- Check the Draft, Make, and watch it together.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Keep the crayon look. The rocket shakes and launches off the paper.”
- “This is our cat Bo. He walks across the kitchen table in the drawing style.”
- “The monster climbs out of the page and waves.”
- “Turn this drawing of a horse into a real horse running in a field.”
- “The house in the drawing at night, lights coming on in the windows.”
Tips
- Say what it is. Spark can’t always tell a horse from a dog in a drawing.
- One action. A short shot works best: fly, wave, run, launch.
- Make a series. One drawing a week becomes a story your child directs.
