Share a dance clip, add one group photo, and Spark puts everyone into the routine. Nobody has to learn the steps or be in the same place. For any other trend, see how to put yourself in a TikTok trend.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- A dance clip with about as many dancers as you have people, from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or your camera roll.
- One group photo. Everyone’s face clear, everyone standing, nobody cut off. A photo taken at arm’s length from a bit further back usually beats a close selfie.
Step by step
- Find a group routine. Open the clip. Steady, wide shots let every dancer stay in view.
- Share it into Rift. Tap Share, then Rift.
- Add the group photo. Spark looks at the clip and at your photo, and asks if it has the right people in the right spots.
- Assign places. Say who goes where in one line. If you don’t, Spark picks the order from the photo.
- Make. Check the Draft, tap Make, and leave the app if you like. The finished video appears in your Library.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Me, Priya and Tom in the three spots, left to right as in the photo.”
- “Our whole five-a-side team, same routine, on the pitch.”
- “The cousins in the back garden, evening light.”
- “Put the two of us in as the front pair, ignore the rest.”
- “Same routine, but our shop crew in aprons.”
Tips
- Match numbers. A three-dancer clip with a five-person photo asks Spark to leave two people out. Pick a clip that matches.
- Photograph at the same height. If one friend is crouching in the photo, they may shrink in the video.
- Avoid overlapping faces. Squeezed-together selfies make it harder to tell people apart. Give everyone a little space.
- Keep the stage simple. One floor, one background and a camera that doesn’t spin are easiest to follow.
- Ask permission. Show the friends the Draft before you post.
Beyond dancing
A group photo works for any group scene: a team lifting a trophy, a family walking out in matching outfits, a band entrance. Share the clip, add the photo, and say who goes where.
