Save a Draft as a format and next time you only bring a new photo, whether it is a daily outfit, a product of the week or a pet’s seasonal costume.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- One video you are happy with, made in Rift.
- A new photo for each run: the next person, pet, product or place.
Step by step
- Make the first one. Share a video into Rift, or tell Spark what you want, and Make as usual.
- Check it holds up. A format is only as good as its first run. If you want a different pace or camera, ask Spark and Make again before saving.
- Save the Draft as a format. From the Draft, save it. Give it a name you will remember, like “Friday fit check”.
- Run it again. Next time, open the format and add the new photo.
- Make. Check the price on the button and tap Make. The new video lands in your Library.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Same walk-up, same light, but with my sister this time.”
- “Run my Friday format with this new jacket.”
- “Same slow turn, same studio, but with my white sneakers” (add a product photo).
- “Same garden shot, with my dog instead of me.”
- “Same kitchen scene, but swap in tonight’s dish.”
Tips for a series that holds together
- Decide what stays and what changes. A format works when one thing moves (the subject) and everything else repeats (place, light, camera).
- Use photos that match. If the first photo was a bright face-on shot, keep the next ones the same, or the results will drift.
- Keep it short. Up to 15 seconds fits a regular post. Shorter formats repeat more cleanly.
- Name formats by what they do. “Product turn” is clearer than “Test 3”.
- Review the first frame. Posts in a series are recognised by their opening. Pick a format with a strong first second.
When a format goes wrong
If a run comes out differently from the first, the cause is almost always the new photo. Compare it to the one you started with: same distance, same angle, same light. Swap it for a closer match and Make again. If the format itself feels tired after a few weeks, make a fresh first video, tweak what you no longer like, and save it as a new format. Keep the old one; it costs nothing to leave it in the list.
Beyond a posting series
A format also suits families and small shops. A birthday video you reuse for each child, a menu item reveal each week, a real estate walk-through with each new listing photo. Anything you do more than twice is worth saving once.
