Rift vs Reface for putting yourself in a video

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Reface is an iPhone app built around swapping your face into photos and videos, with hairstyle try-on and portraits too. Rift is an iPhone app where you share a video, tell Spark, Rift's video agent, what to change, and tap Make, with the price on the button. Pick Reface for a quick face swap; pick Rift to remake a video you saw.

If you want to see yourself in a video, Reface and Rift both get you there, by different roads. We make Rift, so every Reface fact below comes from its own App Store listing, read on 2026-10-21.

Two ways to the same idea

Reface’s listing calls it “Face Swap AI Generator” by NEOCORTEXT, INC. and describes an all-in-one face swap photo and video editor. It also lists hairstyle try-on, headshots and avatars. Rift starts from a whole video. You share it, Spark watches it, you say who stars, and Spark sets up a Draft for you to check before you tap Make.

Use one source video and one clear photo of your face. Compare how well your face holds up, what the app shows before you spend, and what the free use leaves out. Tell us if we got something wrong and we will fix this page.

What we don’t say

We don’t claim Rift is cheaper, quicker or better. Rift shows its price on the Make button before you tap, and we print no Reface numbers we could not date.

Questions people ask

Is Reface free?

Its App Store listing says free with in-app purchases. We don't print its prices; check the app for what is included.

Yes. Its listing says "Swap your face on photos and videos" and mentions live face swaps. Checked 2026-10-21.

Does Rift swap faces?
