B-roll is the cutaway you cut to while someone talks. Tell Spark which cutaway you need, add a frame from your video so the light matches, and you get a clip of up to 15 seconds.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- A list of the cutaways your video is missing.
- A frame from your video, for matching the look.
Step by step
- List the shots you need.
- Tell Spark one shot at a time, with light and camera.
- Check the Draft and tap Make.
- Find them in your Library and drop them into your editing app.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Steam rises from a black coffee on a wooden table, morning light, slow push in.”
- “A hand types on a laptop beside a plant and a notebook, shallow focus.”
- “A city street at blue hour, traffic lights blurring, slow tracking shot.”
- “My product bottle on a clean shelf, soft window light,” with the product photo.
- “A dog trots along a park path, low angle, warm light.”
Tips
- Match the light of the footage around it.
- Keep shots short. Two to four seconds in the edit.
- Hands and objects work well, long faces are harder.
