How to see yourself older or younger in a short video

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add one clear photo of your face in Rift and tell Spark, Rift's video agent, the age you want to see, such as 80 or 8. Spark plans the shots and shows a Draft with the price on the Make button. Tap Make and you get a short video of up to 15 seconds of an older or younger you, saved to your Library.

One photo of your face is enough for Spark to show you older or younger in a short video. If you want the two of you in one hug, try hugging your younger self.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add your photo. Open Spark and pick the photo, or add yourself as a character.
  2. Say the age and the moment. For example, “me at 80, laughing on a porch.”
  3. Check the Draft. Ask for a change, like a different hairstyle or a different place.
  4. Make. Tap Make. The price is shown on the Make button before you tap.
  5. Open your Library and watch it, or send it to someone who will laugh.

Tips

Questions people ask

Will it look exactly like me at that age?

No. It is an imagined version of you, built from your photo. Treat it as a fun guess, not a prediction.

Can I do this with a friend or my parents?

Yes, with their OK. Add their photo and say the age you want.

Can I see both ages in one video?

Yes. Ask for a single shot, such as the older you and the younger you walking side by side.

What if the photo is old already?

It works. A recent photo gives the clearest match, but any clear face works.
