Add the black and white photo, tell Spark to colourise it and name any colours you remember. You can compare up to 4 versions at once and keep the most natural one.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- A good scan or a straight-on photo of the print.
- Any colours you remember: a dress, a uniform, a car, the sea.
Step by step
- Add the photo from your camera roll.
- Ask for colour and say what you know.
- Check the Draft. Ask for up to 4 versions to compare. The price is on the Make button.
- Tap Make and pick the best one. Save it to Library.
- Optional. Tap Turn into a video for a small movement.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Colourise this photo. Natural skin tones. Her dress was dark blue.”
- “Colourise it, keep it soft and slightly faded like an old print.”
- “Colourise and restore the scratches, keep the faces exactly the same.”
- “The car was cherry red and the sky is a summer afternoon.”
Tips
- Name what you remember. A family memory of a green coat beats a guess.
- Aim for soft, not bright. “Slightly faded, warm” looks more honest than saturated colour.
- Restore first if the photo is damaged. A clean base gives cleaner colour.
- Keep the original. The colour version is an addition, not a replacement.
