Why do AI videos sometimes look weird?

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

AI video predicts what each frame should look like, and it sometimes guesses wrong: faces warp, limbs bend, objects change shape, or movement feels floaty. Busy scenes, fast action and unclear photos make it worse. You can reduce it with clear photos, simple scenes and a second version. Rift's Spark, Rift's video agent, can plan a simpler shot when you ask.

Weird frames usually come from too much asked of one clip. Two Rift guides go deeper: fix glitchy motion and make a remake look more real.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add a clear photo with the face visible.
  2. Tell Spark one simple scene.
  3. Check the Draft and trim anything busy.
  4. Tap Make.
  5. Ask for another version if it looks off.

Tips

Questions people ask

Why does the face change mid-clip?

Small changes between frames add up. A clear, front-facing photo helps.

Why does movement look floaty?

The model may not match real weight and timing. Slower, simpler moves usually look steadier.

Can I fix a weird clip?

Often yes. Ask Spark for another version with a simpler scene.

Does a longer clip look worse?

More time on screen means more chances for something to slip. Rift keeps clips up to 15 seconds.
