How to make a restaurant dish video for Instagram from a photo

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add a photo of the finished dish to Rift and tell Spark the shot, such as steam rising as a fork lifts a bite from a ramen bowl. Check the Draft and tap Make. You get a video of up to 15 seconds in your Library, ready to post as a Reel or Story from your phone. Rift makes the video and you do the posting.

Add a photo of the finished dish and Spark builds the moving shot, such as steam rising, a cheese pull or sauce poured over, with no free hand, good light or repeat takes needed.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add the photo. Open Rift and add the dish.
  2. Say the shot. One move on one dish.
  3. Check the Draft. Spark shows the shot and what stays fixed: your plate, your garnish, the table.
  4. Make. Tap Make. See the price on the button first.
  5. Post. Find the video in your Library, then post it as a Reel or Story.

Yes. Ask for a hand with a fork, chopsticks or a spoon.
